Terms of the competition for the prizes of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the best scientific research in natural sciences and humanities

General provisions

1. Prizes for the best scientific research in natural sciences and humanities (hereinafter referred to as prizes) are awarded annually to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan on a competitive basis:

1) K.I.Satpayev Award for the best scientific research in the field of natural sciences;

2) the award named after Ch.Valikhanov for the best scientific research in the field of humanities;

3) The Award.Altynsarina for the best scientific research and work in the field of pedagogy;

4) The Kul-Tegin Award for outstanding achievements in the field of Turkology;

5) D.A.Kunaev Award for young scientists for the best work in the field of natural sciences; 

6) M.Auezov Award for young scientists for the best work in the field of humanities. 

2. Works by individual authors or by a team of up to five authors may be submitted for prizes. Each author and team of authors has the right to submit only one work to the competition.

 

2. Published works (series of works) in the field of natural sciences and humanities that are of great theoretical and practical importance, characterized by novelty and relevance of research, originality in setting and solving scientific problems, are nominated for prizes.

 

3. Works previously awarded prizes paid from the republican budget are not allowed to participate in the competition for these prizes. The work for the award is put forward no more than twice.

If there are new achievements of the winner of this award, the prize may be awarded to him again no earlier than five years after the previous award.

The authors of the collective work receive the monetary part of the award in equal shares.

4. Published works performed during the last five years, including the year preceding the announcement of the competition, which have been comprehensively discussed in the consultative and advisory bodies of organizations with the adoption of an appropriate decision, are nominated for prizes.

5. Young scientists up to and including 35 years of age may participate in the competition for prizes for young scientists.

The work of young scientists must be completed within the last three years, including the year preceding the announcement of the competition.

 

The procedure for the nomination, registration and submission of works for prizes

 

1. The right to nominate works for prizes is granted to advisory bodies (academic councils) of scientific organizations and higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regardless of their forms of ownership (hereinafter referred to as organizations).

2. The decision to nominate a work for the award is made in accordance with the procedure established in the organization where the work is being nominated for the award.

3. The following documents are submitted for the competition::

1) scientific work in the form of books, monographs, textbooks, scanned prints of articles, copies of patents, copyright certificates, reports on research work that have passed state registration;

2) a description of the work (no more than 0.5 pp.), which outlines its content, the relevance and novelty of the research, the main scientific results, their significance and the possibility of further use;

The description contains a title page indicating the name of the organization representing the work, the name of the job, the last names and initials of the applicants, signed by the applicants.

3) a brief abstract of the work, which should contain the following information:

- on the front side – the name of the work, the full name of the nominating organization; surnames, first names, patronymics of the authors, their places of work, positions, academic degrees and titles;

- on the reverse side there is a summary of the work and the meaning of the results obtained, the signatures of the authors of the work.

4) presentation is a justification reflecting the scientific relevance and significance of the work.

Each copy of the justification submission is drawn up on the official letterhead of the nominating organization and signed by the head of the organization.

5) an extract from the minutes of the meeting of the advisory body of the organization that nominated the work, containing the submission of the work for the award, indicating the composition of the author's team.

The statement is signed by the chairman of the body and its secretary and stamped by the organization that put forward the work.

6) a certificate from the place of the main job of the candidate for the award, which contains the following information:

a) the name of the proposed work;

b) last name, first name, patronymic;

c) year, month and birthday;

d) academic degree and title, specialty;

e) current position;

f) office and home addresses and phone numbers of the applicant, e-mail address, mobile phone.

The certificate is signed by the applicant and is certified by the signature of an employee of the personnel department at the place of main work (study) and stamped.

7) a brief description of the scientific activity of the candidate for the award, signed by the head of the organization that put forward the work.

For collective work, the candidate's creative contribution is indicated.

8) a list of the main scientific papers (no more than 5), which is certified by the seal of the organization at the place of his main work.

9) a certificate from the organization that submitted the work, certifying that the submitted work (series of works) Previously, no awards were awarded, paid from the republican budget, signed by the head of the organization and certified with its seal.

4. The documents specified in subitems 6), 7) and 8) of this paragraph shall be submitted from the place of the last job of the candidate for the award in case of his dismissal.

The works and materials submitted to the competition are returned in one copy upon the written request of the authors.

For all documents submitted to the competition, their electronic versions on electronic media are also submitted. 

The materials submitted to the competition for prizes in the field of science, including scientific work, are presented in two identical copies.

5. Each set of documents specified in subclauses 2)-9) paragraph 3 is filed in a binder in the specified sequence and sealed in a separate envelope and, together with the scientific work and electronic media, placed in a folder with the inscription:

1) "For the K.I. Satpayev Prize for the best scientific research in the field of natural sciences";

2) "For the award named after Ch.Ch. Valikhanov for the best scientific research in the field of humanities"; 

3) "For the  Award Altynsarina for the best scientific research and work in the field of pedagogy"; 

4) "For the Kul-tegin Prize for outstanding achievements in the field of Turkology";

5) "For the D.A. Kunaev Prize for Young scientists for the best work in the field of natural sciences";

6) "For the M.O. Auezov Prize for young scientists for the best work in the field of humanities."

The envelopes and folder covers indicate the name of the organization where the work was performed, the name of the work, the surnames, first names, patronymics of the authors.

Competitive materials for prizes in the field of science and state scientific scholarships are designed taking into account the following parameters:

margins on the left - 2.5 cm, margins on the right - 1.5 cm, headers and footers - 2.0 cm;

     the font is "TimesNewRoman" in size No. 14;

the line spacing is single;

the paragraph indentation (the indentation of the first line) is 1.25 cm.
