The department was established in 2006 with the aim of training specialists in educational programs in the field of metallurgy to provide engineering personnel for the fuel and energy sector and the metallurgical industry of the Pavlodar region. To improve the quality of graduate training, experienced faculty members from cities such as Almaty, Karaganda, Temirtau, Kokshetau, and Pavlodar were invited to join the department. At the same time, the department's material and technical base was actively developed for key and specialized disciplines.

Today, the department offers bachelor's degree programs in:

  • 6B07222 – Metallurgy
  • 6B07214 – Metallurgy

 

Department Mission:

The mission of the department is to train a new generation of specialists with strong fundamental knowledge—proactive individuals capable of quickly adapting to the changing demands of the labor market, modern technologies, and nanotechnologies in the field of metallurgy, as well as effectively working in teams.

 

Educational Program Objective:

To prepare highly educated, competitive professionals capable of ensuring the production of high-quality metal products and responding dynamically to the global challenges of the modern market. To implement innovative technologies and utilize artificial intelligence in technological processes and equipment maintenance.

The academic staff of the department is formed in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Rules for Competitive Selection for Positions of Academic and Teaching Personnel in Higher Education Institutions.

In compliance with these regulations, the institute has established a competitive selection committee responsible for evaluating and appointing candidates to vacant positions, taking into account the qualification requirements for academic and teaching personnel.

The percentage of faculty members holding advanced academic degrees at the department exceeds 40%.

Graduates who successfully complete the bachelor's degree program in Metallurgy have the opportunity to pursue further studies in a master's program, and subsequently in a PhD (doctoral) program.
