Where you can work: The spheres of professional activity are government agencies, institutions and organizations of all forms of ownership, commercial banks, manufacturing enterprises, organization of your own business.
The objects of professional activity of graduates are: economic, financial, marketing, production, economic and analytical services of organizations and enterprises, regardless of their type of activity, form of ownership, categories of participants, organizational and legal forms, state bodies of the republican and local levels.
Professionally important qualities consist in solving practical issues in the field of economics, taking into account its globalization, in the ability to apply the acquired knowledge for solutions in conditions of free entrepreneurial activity, carrying out work on economics, analysis and management.
A bachelor in the chosen specialties and direction should be distinguished by the presence of the following competencies in the field of:
- development and application of rules and procedures for planning the activities of the enterprise ;
- analysis of the effectiveness of management decisions;
- providing the activity process with the necessary production resources;
- conducting innovation and investment management:
- implementation of controlling for all management activities.
The Department of Business and Management is responsible for defining and unifying the goals of the educational program in the specialties 6B04110 Economics, 6B04120 Menedmzhent, 6B04130 Finance, direction 6B041 Business and Management. The responsibilities of the department include: organization of the educational process, including practices, provision of educational and methodological literature by the teaching staff, implementation of general control over the implementation of the educational program. The department's responsibilities also include coordinating the content of the program with employers, monitoring progress, updating the educational program in accordance with the requirements of the market and the external environment.
According to these specialties and directions, classes are taught by more than 20 teachers, including doctors of sciences – 1, candidates of sciences - 5. Teachers of profile disciplines have an education corresponding to the profile of the educational program. Periodically, teachers take advanced training courses, internships. Every year, teachers of the department take part in traditional international scientific and methodological conferences and publish articles in scientific journals of universities of the near and far abroad.
The student studies: A cycle of general education, basic and profile disciplines, including modern achievements of science, technology, technology in the field of economics. The educational program includes the following disciplines: "1C Practice: Accounting", "Statistics", "Management", "Banking", etc., which are aimed at the formation of professional competencies, such as possession of methods of economic research, management in finance, analysis and forecasting of the economic situation in accordance with the market situation.
The presence of professional practice in the educational program presupposes the preparation of bachelors for professional activity.
Types of practices: educational, industrial and pre-graduate. Practices create conditions for students to acquire professional knowledge, help students in forming a general idea of future activities, contributing to the development of interest in the profession;
In order to promote the employment of bachelor graduates, an annual event is held - the "Graduate Fair", in which enterprises and organizations in need of personnel in the specialty "Economics" are invited to participate, for example: Bogatyr Komir LLP, Ekibastuzskaya GRES-1im.B.Nurzhanova LLP, commercial banks, etc.
The Institute has developed a system of student self-government bodies (KDM, clubs, associations, employment services, MTR, "Zhasyl El", law enforcement services, etc.). The Youth Affairs Committee (KDM), the "Alliance of Students of Kazakhstan", the organization of the youth wing of the party "NurOtan" - "ZhasOtan" is actively working.
The department "Business and Management named after Professor Z.A. Galimov" was established in 1994 on the basis of the Ekibastuz branch of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar Industrial Institute.
The teachers of the department have published over 600 scientific and methodological publications, including textbooks and monographs.

Graduates who have successfully mastered the educational programs of higher professional education in the above specialties have the opportunity to continue their education in a master's degree, then a PhD.
The personnel of the department is staffed in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Rules of competitive replacement of positions of scientific and pedagogical personnel of higher educational institutions. According to the Rules of competitive replacement of positions of scientific and pedagogical personnel of higher educational institutions, a competition commission has been established at the Institute. The competitive selection of candidates for vacant positions is carried out in accordance with the qualification characteristics of the positions of scientific and pedagogical workers.The settlement rate of the teaching staff is more than 40%.

In general, the indicators of staffing of the listed specialties and bachelor's degree courses meet the requirements of the State Educational Standards and Standard Rules of Higher Education institutions. Government Resolution No. 207 dated 17.05.2018 with an addendum dated 18.05.2020.
Teachers implementing the educational program strive for improvement and self-development by integrating educational, scientific and innovative activities in their work, using pedagogical technologies and teaching methods in the educational process, as well as defending master's theses, taking advanced training courses, etc.
When designing and organizing the educational process for students with basic secondary special education, a dual form of education is used. The bases and branches of the practice were identified, contracts were concluded with enterprises and organizations of the city and region for joint educational activities. In the course of training, students acquire theoretical knowledge within the walls of the institute and practical skills in organizations and enterprises of the city.
Employment of graduates
Employment of graduates of the Department of Economics and Management is more than 60%. There is a wide range of firms and organizations where yesterday's graduates of the specialty work. These are the leading city-forming enterprises of the city: Bogatyr Komir LLP, Vershina LLP, Gran LLP, Zhumys Uy LLP, EGRES – 1 JSC, Kaz Trans Coal LLP, Vostochny Section EEC JSC, as well as commercial banks of Ekibastuz.
