Scammers have reached the digital tenge.
The National Bank of Kazakhstan warns of increased cases of fraud related to the spread of false investment offers using digital tenge. The attackers are actively spreading advertisements on social networks about the "state investment project of digital tenge", which allegedly guarantees high profitability and support from the state and the National Bank in a short period of time. "Using such messages, attackers attract users to phishing sites, where, under the pretext of "limited supply" or "last resort", they urge citizens to invest money in a fictitious project. Fake platforms create the appearance of a personal account with a demonstration of "growing profits" to encourage citizens to re-invest. As a result, the attackers fraudulently gain access to citizens' funds," the National Bank of Kazakhstan said in a press release. The National Bank reminded that the digital tenge is not an investment instrument and is not intended to make a profit.
