Research work at the Department of Automation and Information Systems is carried out in accordance with the plan of scientific research of the EITI.

      Research work is associated with scientific research, conducting research, experiments in order to expand existing and obtain new knowledge, testing scientific hypotheses, establishing patterns that manifest themselves in nature and in society, scientific generalizations, scientific justification of projects.

Research work of students

The research work of students is an integral part of the training of qualified specialists. The research work of students at the department is carried out by students in the form of abstract, research, laboratory work, term papers, theses (projects) containing elements of research, as well as when performing specific tasks of a research nature aimed at solving the problem of production, during the period of industrial practice. The results of students' research work are published in scientific journals and conference proceedings.

Among the scientific results of the students ' work , the department highlights the following:

• Serikova A.K. (BIS-31k, supervisor – Kydyrbaeva A.B.) participated in the research paper competition at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with the work "Development of an OLAP Model for the Intellectual Analysis of Tuberculosis Incidence" (2025).
• Novikov V.V., Shamshenov T.A., Radaikin D.A. presented their research at the VI International Student Scientific and Practical Conference "Youth Digital Forum YDF-2025" at the International University of Information Technologies.
• Shamshenov Timur (BIS-21), Radaikin Dmitry (BIS-21), and Abekov Temirlan (BIS-11s) under the supervision of Kydyrbaeva A.B., Zozulya E.S., and Kozhamzharova M.K. respectively, demonstrated their skills at the Informatics and Programming Olympiad at INEU, Pavlodar (2025).
• Zhumat Ataqozy (BIS-31k) won the competition of student works in the energy sector with his project "Automatic Tuning of Dynamic Parameters of Automatic Control Systems for Thermal Power Plants" organized by JSC "Pavlodarenergo" (2024).
• Egovtsev A.V. (BAU-31) received the 1st degree diploma at the research paper competition of Satbayev University for his work "Determination of the Dynamic Parameter Settings for the Steam Pressure Regulator after the Drum of a Pulverized Coal Steam Generator" (2024).
• Taibupenov A.K. and Zhaksalykov A.K. (BIS-31) were recognized at the research competition of the International University of Information Technologies for their project "Modernization of the Institute's Final Certification Information System" (2024).
